With automation benefits globally recognized, there is often still some concern about implementation, apart from cost. Mainly this has to do with the operation of the equipment and the required skill level of the operators. At KRANENDONK, we do not just replace the manual activities by automation but we look at the whole process, automating both the work preparation as well as the production. Thus, no complex tasks for operators.

The result is a very easy-to-use solution. In particular for the Edge Preparation System (EPS), operation is almost child’s play. First of all, there is no need to worry about difficult software. You can use the same input format (.dxf files) as you use for the plate cutting/burning machines. Job preparation takes place in the office and is as simple as clicking the edges that need to be rounded by the EPS. All settings (such as movement, tool changing, etc.) are automatically applied. After only a few minutes, the job is done and send to the shop floor.

As nice-to-have, there is even the option for automatic plate detection using our vision technology. All our solutions are
provided with training and even include support for the first few weeks of production. After we leave your company, you can be confident everything is running smoothly and everyone knows how to operate the machine. Even for maintenance purposes, our equipment is always designed for a long lifetime with simple maintenance activities. For example, rails are covered by rubber belts and cabling & components are built into the equipment such that wear is kept to an absolute minimum.

Although developed especially for the shipbuilding industry, the Edge Preparation System is also applicable in other plate handling industries. Click here to find out more, or challenge us and send us your request by e-mail: info@kranendonk.com
