News - KRANENDONK wins Maritime Innovation Award

KRANENDONK's Edge Preparation System won the Maritime Innovation Award 2013. The award was handed out at the annual Maritime Awards Gala yesterday. The jury, consisting of experts from the maritime industry, praised KRANENDONK's plate edge milling solution for its innovative character and the way it enables shipyards to efficiently comply with IMO PSPC regulations.

Other nominees included Veth Propulsion's Hybrid Drive and Van Oossanen's Hull Vane. KRANENDONK was also nominated in 2012 and won the award in 2007.

Plate edge milling

To improve the quality of coatings in shipbuilding, IMO PSPC demands the preparation (rounding) of steel plate edges.
