Since 1989 Kranendonk has supplied many welding and cutting solutions to companies in all kinds of branches all over the world. The Flexible Robotized Welding System is especially designed for companies with small batch production which are seeking for opportunities to improve their efficiency and throughput.

The system

With the Flexible Robotized Welding System it becomes possible to weld several products in random order. There is no need to change the jigs, fixtures or robot programs when another product must be welded. This results in higher production flexibility, higher production capacity and smaller stock. The process takes place completely automatic and unmanned. With the 3-axis manipulator, welding of large products becomes possible. The Flexible Robotized Welding System has a flexible design and can be used in many situations and various forms. The components used are of excellent quality and ensure a smooth operation for many years.

FMS control panel

The Flexible Robotized Welding System will be delivered with a full graphical operator interface. The menu structure and push buttons of the operator interface automatically guides the operator to the right command to perform a certain task. Actions as selection a specific batch for production, loading and unloading of the system, start or stop welding and cleaning of the torch are clearly shown by easy to understand pictures and icons. The graphical operator interface enables a very short learning cycle and new operators can within days operate the Flexible Manufacturing System without having any language barriers.

Operation

The operation and welding of the FMS Cell is completely automatic. The products are placed on the jigs at the product preperation area. The jigs with the product clamped in the fixtures are placed on the conveyor system and will be entered into the system. With this information the FMS Cell is able to locate, transport and manipulate the product automatically to the welding area. The FMS Cell will then automatically perform unmanned production and the operator can completely focus on the production quality and flow. The FMS Cell can be controlled from an operator panel, so that the operator has a view of the robot(s) at work. The simple graphical operator software makes it easy to operate our systems and there will be no need of highly trained staff.
