RinasWeld

‘Hands off robot programming’

Increasing complexity of products makes it harder to control a production system. Especially when dealing with continuously changing designs, conventional programming methods are insufficient. To overcome this problem, KRANENDONK has developed the intelligent RinasWeld software. With this software, non-repetitive production automation becomes highly profitable.

Robot programming methods

Several methods of robot programming are available, such as teach-in, simulation and vision based software. RinasWeld takes a leap forward from these regular methods: it completely automates the programming process. Only the loading of a 3D CAD model is needed. The software will determine automatically where the welds need to be, how the robots can reach these places, and what parameters should be used for each weld. Smart anti-collision lets the robot make maximum use of the available space, so welding in tiny spaces is no problem. With these intelligent features, RinasWeld is the most advanced connection between 3D CAD and robotic welding.

The production data for the robotic welding is generated automatically. By hand the 3D model is loaded into the software. After this the RinasWeld software retrieves the needed data and generates the program. After the generation the production can be simulated. On the shopfloor the operator only needs to select the program.

The RinasWeld software package is available for most welding systems of KRANENDONK. It is used in shipyards for the welding complex hull structures, and in the offshore and construction industry for welding of beams. In any welding situation where production is not repetitive, RinasWeld will deal with the complex programming tasks.
