H-beam welding solutions

Kranendonk has engineered and delivered robotized, CNC- and PLC-controlled, one piece production systems for the industry since 1989. Over these years Kranendonk has supplied many welding gantries and with this experience we have developed a H-beam Stiffener Welding Line suitable for welding stiffeners, foot and head plates into small and medium sized H-beams. This H-beam Stiffener and Footplate Welding Line is a must for every company active in the field of building construction, which is seeking for opportunities to improve their efficiency, quality and throughput.

The system

The actual welding is performed by industrial robots suspended from a stationary robot gantry. Kranendonk robot welding lines are developed to perform welding in the H-beam production process. The H-beam Stiffener Welding Line is able to weld stiffeners, foot and head plates into small and medium sized H-beams. The system can weld transversal, longitudinal and vertical welds. If the welding line is equipped with two or more robots even simultanious welding of double fillet welds is possible. During the welding process monitoring and logging takes place to assure that quality standards are met.

Operation

Production with the H-Beam Stiffener Welding Line is automatic. Beams are placed on the buffers and entered in to the system. The system will place the beams unattended at right location. The system will then automatically generate and execute the welding programs for that unique beam. The robot will locate and weld the beams automatically. The operators handle production tasks, not difficult robot programs. This means the operator can completely focus on the production quality and flow.

ARAC software

The welding line is supplied with Kranendonk ARAC software. The advanced ARAC software combines easy H-beam welding macro programming of the robots with simple graphical online cell and process control. No manual programming is required, since all production data is obtained directly from a CAD system database. With Kranendonk ARAC software constant change of production and product variation is possible.
