Kranendonk has engineered and delivered robotized, CNC- and PLC-controlled, one piece production systems for the industry since 1989. Over these years we have supplied many cutting solutions and with this experience we have developed a Compact Cutting Cell suitable for cutting H-beams and profiles, coping and cutting of holes. This Compact Cutting Cell is a must for every company active in the field of Steel Construction, which is seeking for opportunities to improve their efficiency and throughput.

The system

The basis of the Compact Cutting Cell is a fixed robot column with a suspended industrial robot. The controls, robot and process equipment are integrated in the fixed column requiring a minimal floor space. Additional to the Compact Cutting Cell Kranendonk has designed a special clamping frame with an integrated length measuring system. This clamping frame with length measuring combines high accuracy and high efficiency.

ARAC software

The Compact Cutting Cell is supplied with the Kranendonk ARAC software. The advanced ARAC software combines easy cutting programming of the robot with simple graphical online cell and process control.

Process

The Compact Cutting Cell is a dedicated profile and H-beam cutting installation which uses the latest supervised oxy fuel or plasma process equipment.

Accuracy

Dynamic Flexible Production or “DFP” is an additional feature in the ARAC software. The main reason for developing this feature is the fact that all steel profiles have tolerances in dimensions and shape. To optimize the cutting process these tolerances must be known before generating the robot program. DFP automatically measures the profile with a 3D sensor and uses that data to automatically generate the correct robot program and to make the perfect cut.
